Abuja to witness seven-hour electricity interruptions – TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced scheduled maintenance that will result in a seven-hour power interruption in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, over the weekend. This maintenance is aimed at conducting preventive measures on the 132/33kV 2X100MVA power Transformers located in the Apo Transmission Substation.

According to Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs at TCN, the maintenance activity is scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday, commencing from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.

As a result of this maintenance work, both transformers will be affected, leading to Abuja DisCo being unable to distribute power to its customers in various areas including Garki, Asokoro, Lugbe, Airport Road, Gudu, Gaduwa, parts of Lokogoma, Apo, Kabusa, Guzape, and Nepa Junction.

TCN assures that power supply will be restored to the affected areas by 4:00 pm on both days. However, it regrets any inconvenience this may cause to electricity consumers in these regions.

In light of the planned interruption, TCN extends its apologies for any inconvenience caused and emphasizes the importance of the maintenance measures to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the power supply infrastructure.
