In Yangoji village, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), a disturbing incident occurred as armed individuals kidnapped a seven-year-old girl. Suleiman Musa, a local resident, disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the assailants invaded the community during the early hours of Wednesday.
The criminals forcefully entered several houses within the village, firing numerous gunshots before seizing the young girl. Fortunately, the prompt response of a police team compelled the gunmen to hastily retreat from the area.
According to reports, the Kwali Divisional Police Headquarters promptly reacted to the distress call regarding the attack at approximately 5 a.m. on Wednesday. A reliable source stated that it was the immediate action of police personnel, along with the assistance of hunters and vigilance members led by the Kwali Divisional Police Officer (DPO), that prevented further harm to the community.
The perpetrators engaged in a fierce gunfight with the security team before managing to escape with the kidnapped girl. Presently, the security team is conducting a thorough search of the vicinity in hopes of rescuing the girl and apprehending the criminals.
Upon reaching out to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the FCT, Josephine Adeh, for more information on the incident, she promised to provide details as soon as possible.
