The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has underscored the vital role of tax cooperation from companies operating in the nation’s capital. During a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Nadeem Group, led by Mr. George Tolofari, Special Adviser to the Chief Executive Officer, Wike emphasized the significance of prompt tax payments for the FCT Administration.

Highlighting the essential nature of taxes in funding infrastructure projects, Wike urged companies in the FCT to fulfill their tax obligations promptly. He emphasized that tax revenue is crucial for the construction of roads and public buildings, essential for the development of the capital.

Wike pointed out the unique financial structure of Abuja, stating that unlike other states that receive funds from the Federation Account, the FCT relies solely on taxes for revenue generation. This reliance underscores the importance of tax compliance from companies operating within the territory.
