The ongoing strike, propelled by the assault on NLC President Joe Ajaero and other unresolved issues, has been suspended following the Joint National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).
The decision to suspend the strike emerged after the intervention of the Federal Government, facilitated through the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).
Despite the suspension of the strike, discussions pertaining to the demands put forth by the labor unions will persist. The resolution to suspend the strike signals a pause in the industrial action following the government’s involvement but underscores that negotiations on critical labor-related issues will continue
