Real Madrid have finally made the signing of Jude Bellingham official. A formality that has been awaited since Borussia Dortmund announced on June 7 that they had completed the deal with the Spanish club for a fee of 103 million euros plus variables.

Now it is Los Blancos that has formalised the operation, which was brought forward by BVB due to their stock market obligations.

The deal had therefore already been confirmed for a few days, pending the official announcement on the club’s website.

As MARCA has already reported, Bellingham has signed for six seasons with his new club, a contract until 30 June 2029.

This is more than enough time to shape the expected generational change in Real Madrid’s midfield, a process that began with the signings of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchoaumeni and in which the arrival of the Englishman, one of those signings considered strategic, is a key piece.

A process in which they will have the help of veterans such as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, with the Croatian strongly tempted by Saudi Arabian football but apparently ready to play next season at the club.

With Bellingham’s deal now confirmed by both clubs, all that remains to be resolved is the question of which number the English player will wear on his official unveiling as a new Real Madrid player.

Last Monday, there were significant changes in this regard, with Vinicius taking the No.7 left free by Eden Hazard, Rodrygo taking Marco Asensio’s No.11, Fran Garcia took the No.20 and Brahim Diaz took the No.21. The No.14 remains available.

Vini welcomes him

One of the first Real Madrid players to welcome Bellingham on their social media was Vinicius, who has already taken on his new role at Real Madrid.

“Welcome to the best team in the world,” said the Brazilian, commenting on Real Madrid’s official tweet about the signing of the former Borussia Dortmund player.
