Wike Sets Completion Date for Wuye/Wuse Flyover in Abuja

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced that the Wuye/Wuse Flyover project is nearing completion, with 85% of the work already done. Speaking after inspecting the project in Abuja, Wike revealed that the flyover is set to be inaugurated in May.

During the inspection, Wike also assessed the progress of the 11-kilometer six-lane dual carriage expressway linking the Airport Expressway to Kuje. He emphasized that once completed, this road will unlock the area for significant economic growth and development.

Commending the contractors, including Arab Contractors and Julius Berger, for their dedication to the project’s timeline, Wike expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of the work. He assured that the contractors are committed to meeting the May deadline for project completion.

Additionally, Wike visited the official residence of the vice president, where Julius Berger is handling the project. He noted that the contractors are currently focusing on electrical installations and assured that significant progress will be visible in the coming weeks.

Reaffirming his commitment to ensuring the timely completion of all ongoing projects in the FCT, Wike stressed that these projects are a top priority. He highlighted the inclusion of these projects in the FCT’s 2024 statutory budget to ensure adequate funding and timely execution.

With these developments, Wike’s announcement signals a significant step towards enhancing transportation infrastructure and fostering economic development in the capital city.
